Can bow legs in children improve on their own without any treatment?

Asked 2 years ago

Hi there, I am wondering if my child's bow legs will improve on their own or if medical intervention is necessary. I want to ensure that my child's legs develop properly and that they do not experience any long-term issues. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Yes! Bowlegs correct as a child grows. At about 3-5 years, your child might even develop knock knees (opposite of bowleg), where the knees come together. At around age 5-7, the legs get properly aligned. If your 3 years old child still has pronounced bowlegs, kindly visit your physician.
