How do orthotics work to correct bow legs, and are they effective?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi there, my youngest child has bowed legs. I'm curious about how orthotics work to correct bow legs. I've been considering getting them for my child, but I want to know if they're effective and not causing any further harm. Can anyone explain to me how they work? Thank you!

Custom-made orthotics are effective! They reduce the load on stressed tissues and optimise the foot and ankle position by redistributing the forces on the growth plate to establish normal maturity. Ankle/knee braces maintain the legs' structural stability. However, remember to visit your doctor for a proper evaluation.
