How often should children's feet be measured and their shoes replaced as they grow?
Asked 3 years ago
Hey, I'm wondering how often I should be measuring my child's feet and replacing their shoes as they grow. I don't want to spend unnecessary money on new shoes too frequently, but I also don't want to risk my child's foot health. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated as often my kid is not great at expressing their discomfort.

It is really important to regularly measure your child’s feet and to purchase correct-fitting shoes throughout their growth, to reduce the likelihood of foot problems and pain. It is likely that between 0-18 months a child’s feet will grow a half shoe size every two months. Between 18 months and 3 years of age, their feet may grow a half shoe size every three months. From 3 years onwards, their feet should grow one full size each year. It is recommended that you should have your child’s feet remeasured every six to twelve weeks, to ensure that they always have correct footwear for their foot size.
