Can ankle support be used as a treatment for ankle injuries in children?
Asked 3 years ago
I'm wondering if shoes with ankle support would help my child recover from twisting his ankle. I've heard that ankle support can help with the healing process. Is using ankle support for a child's ankle injury helpful to the healing process?

Yes. Ankle bracing can enhance proprioception, provide more support, and limit the range of motion and mobility. However, ankle support is not a 100 percent cure-all or guarantee against injuries. Making an educated decision with your healthcare provider will help determine if wearing an ankle brace/support is right for your kid.
