How easy is it to clean Velcro shoes compared to regular shoes?
Asked 2 years ago
As my son is very adventurous, he is always making his shoes muddy. I'm considering getting him Velcro shoes because they seem like they would be easier to clean than regular laced shoes, however, I'm not sure if this is actually true. Is Velcro easy to clean?

It is a common myth that Velcro shoes are difficult to clean. The reality is that they require just a little bit more care than a regular laced shoe, to ensure that they keep their stick for a long time. Velcro is strong enough to withstand just about anything your child throws at them, including dirt and rain. You can remove dirt from Velcro straps with a toothbrush, or by using the soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner. You can also easily wash Velcro by hand using soap and warm water, or by putting the shoes in a washing machine.
