How long does delivery take?
All Australian orders ship free with Australia Post Express, with no minimum spend. Orders placed before 12pm AEST on a business day are dispatched the same day. Most metro areas arrive in 1–3 business days, and remote postcodes in 4–6. It can arrive faster.
Outside Australia, we ship worldwide with tracking. Times are on our Delivery page. Orders to Europe, the UK, or the United States are usually quicker from firstwalkers.com.
What support does this shoe give?
The features listed on this shoe are the ones it includes. That might be a dense heel counter, high built-in arch support, extended ankle support, or something else. Many Australian paediatric podiatrists and physiotherapists recommend our range for children who need extra support, who are wearing orthotics, or who are starting to walk.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure your child’s feet, then use our size chart.
- Stand them barefoot on a sheet of paper. Mark the back of the heel and the longest toe.
- Measure between the marks in centimetres.
- Match that length on the chart. If the feet differ, size by the larger foot.
- Between sizes, size up.

Will an orthotic, AFO, or SMO fit in this shoe?
Only when the features on this shoe include orthotic-compatible, an extended tongue, or a removable insole. If they don’t, look at our Orthotics Friendly Shoes, or boots and sneakers with laces.
Measure the foot with the device on, then check the size chart. Email us the orthotic’s brand, model, and length if you want help choosing.
Are they easy to put on?
The fastening is named in this shoe’s features: Velcro, buckles, laces, a zipper, or a mix. Velcro is the simplest when that is the fastening listed. A lace, zip, or buckle needs to stay done up for the support that style is built to give.
If a strap feels tight on a wider calf, email us the model. A size exchange is the usual fix.
What if the size is wrong?
You have 14 days from delivery to return unworn shoes in their original packaging. That includes the one free size exchange per year. Email support@firstwalkers.com.au with your order number and we’ll send the returns steps. If you’ve only just missed the 14 days, contact us anyway and we’ll look at it.
The pair has a fault. What should I do?
Email support@firstwalkers.com.au within 45 days of delivery, with your order number. This covers shoes bought on our website. A minor fault is an exchange or a repair. A major fault is an exchange or a refund. We may ask for photos.
